International payments fintech is reacting to the cost-of-living crisis by launching a brand-new lightweight suite of point-of-sale (POS) solutions, which it states will produce “an entry-level POS item” for the tiniest independent businesses.

The new option, called POS Lite, includes a 13in splash-proof touchscreen and stand, card reader, and subscription to SumUp’s software. Designed for nano-sized and little companies, it will enable merchants to sign up card and money payments, arrange their product brochure, track revenues and more. It is based on the fintech’s existing POS Pro system but designed to be more cost efficient; in recent months, small companies have been struck the hardest by increasing fuel costs, spiralling inflation and higher business rates.

has rather a lot of appeal as it does not carry a regular monthly cost. In the UK, where is headquartered, you get the simple choice of one cost per transaction and with any kind of card. You get no regular monthly expenses( opens in new tab) and simply a 1.69% deal charge.
